Is it time I come back?
A lot has changed in the year and a half since I last wrote on the blog. For one, we are no longer residents of the fine city of Chicago, but now the proud residents of St. Petersburg, Florida. Yup, I'm a Floridian now and it isn't half bad.
Of course I have only been here for six months and it was a very quiet hurricane season, so whats not to love, besides the back assward politics?
So, you tell me, is it time to come out of retirement and get back into the swing of things just in time for the 2016 election? I mean it is only a mere two years away!
You tell me, is there an audience for blogs anymore?Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-49678420423089023342013-06-26T08:18:00.000-05:002013-06-26T08:18:51.600-05:00Same Love-One Love<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hlVBg7_08n0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>">Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-82710293153515094652013-04-18T08:09:00.000-05:002013-04-18T08:14:43.623-05:00So......I spoke with someone the other day and they told me that they were surprised that I hadn't voiced my opinion on several topics in the news lately and I was like, yes I have, unfortunately, it has been on Facebook!
So here is the deal my friends, head on over to Facebook if you are really interested in what I have to say! Lord knows I have been filling my page up over there!
Unfortunately it has been too hard for me to keep up on both sides and easier for me to post over there.
Not that I am completely deserting my blog, as time permits, you will here from me, but if you are really craving some Dan, and yes there are plenty of half naked men on my Facebook page as well, just look for me under Dan Casper!

Do not lie to us and try and lie and tell us that the meteor that struck Russia this morning has nothing to do with 2012 DA14, the 150 foot wide asteroid scheduled to come within 17,000 miles of the Earth today. I call bullshit!<br />
<br />
Trying to tell us that the two aren't related is nonsense! It is going to be a long day!<br />

This time, they are going after energy drinks. No, they don't want to tax the hell out of them, something this city is notorious for, but they want to ban them flat out. Again, not they, just one in particular, some old gas bag by the name of Ed Burke.
Listen, I get it, energy drinks are not the healthiest thing there is, but when did it become the governments job to legislate personal responsibility? If I know the risk of slugging down a vodka/Red Bull, my drink of choice, it is just that, my choice. I also know that I can't have ten of them a night or I will vibrate out of the bar, down the street and into my house where I will sit for two days shaking like a mad man.
Stop treating your constituents like a bunch of children. Educate them on the dangers of energy drinks, but in the end, the government can not ban everything in this city that they deem bad for us. Hell, there wouldn't be anything left!
How much caffeine is in a triple express from Starbucks?
What about the pollution we breath in from cars?
What about corn syrup? that is in almost everything by the way!
What about bottled water?
What about the growth hormones that go into meat? Ban meat or ban growth hormones?
Where does it stop!
Educate us! But then again, this country has given up on educating anyone and the citizens have in general gotten lazy.
This country has far bigger issues facing it that worrying about what I choose to put in my body. It is a slippery slope and I don't like that legislators get to pick and choose, depending on who has donated to their campaign, what they think is good and bad for us!

No wonder they could give a flying fuck who they sell there guns and ammunition to!
Maybe, just maybe, that is where we need to begin in getting this whole gun problem under control.

Supposedly she is the one knocked up, but I for some reason have a feeling she is the one that implanted the egg in his ass.
I know , not the happy positive person I normally am, but I CAN NOT STAND EITHER of those two people and feel sorry for any child they are going to drag into their narcissistic, fame whore world.
Oh, Happy New Year!Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-34593927668758058132012-12-28T09:31:00.004-06:002012-12-28T09:31:43.756-06:00Happy 500th Chicago!Yes that's right, last night Chicago took the dubious honor of having it's 500th homicide of the year last night. How did it happen, gun violence of course!
Where is the national media? The Pierce Morgans's? The David Gregory's? Not that I want to take away from the horrendous crime in Connecticut, but 500 people are dead in less than a year in Chicago, and the year isn't over yet! 500 lives, some not so innocent, taken by the hands of their fellow man.
What is wrong with this world or society for that matter, that the only way we know to settle our differences is by taking the life of the person that we don't see eye to eye with?
Hell if I killed everyone I couldn't stand, I don't know when I would be done. I know right from wrong, in most cases. Could I kill in self defense, you bet your ass I could, but to go out and just randomly kill for the thrill, that isn't in my DNA. I know there are consequences for my actions.
But there in lies the question. If you could kill someone and get completely away with the crime, would you?
Happy New Year!
Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-36507015866034373322012-12-18T09:15:00.000-06:002012-12-18T09:15:51.165-06:00Still CryingIf you saw the beginning of The Voice last night, if you have a heart, you are most likely still crying like me. To lose a loved one during the holidays if horrific. To have your innocent child gunned down is unfathomable. To have to bury that child, let alone watch as twenty innocent souls be laid to rest the week before Christmas will set on the hearts of that community and this nation for some time to come.<br />
<br />
Maybe the reason this is hitting me so hard is because I buried my grandma on Christmas Eve. It has taken many years for me to move beyond the pain of seeing the person who loved me the most, laid to rest on what is supposed to be the most joyous of holidays.
Only time will heal the wounds and the pain.<br />
<br />
We must come together as nation and make sure that the senseless violence that took 11,000 lives in the United States last year alone stops. We cannot let the souls of those beautiful children be lost without taking action.<br />

But when the news broke that 20 of the victims of this, yet another senseless shooting, were between the ages of 5-10, I wept at my desk. I'm a cynic and a smart ass, hardened by the daily news of violence. I live in Chicago, every day the news has another story about of a young life that has been taken by the hands of someone else. But this time, this time of year, the age and the innocence of the victims, it hit me hard, and I cried.
My heart can't even begin to imagine what the families of all the victims are going through right now.<br />
<br />
My heart is weighed down with sorrow even now, 24 hours after the fact at what could have been going through not only the mind of the shooter, who thought that the only option he had in life was to take the lives of twenty-six people, but what those small children had to be going through when the shooter burst into their classroom and starting shooting. The families and the survivors of this will never be the same.<br />
<br />
We will probably never know why this happened, but we do know the how, and this is where I get angry. I grew up in the country. I was given my first rifle when I was 12. I was taught to respect the gun and the damage it could do. I also understood the consequences if I was foolish and thought it was a toy. I was also taught that the hard way that guns and reckless people who don't respect them take lives.<br />
<br />
I believe in the 2nd amendment. I believe that we have the right to bare arms, to an extent. There is absolutely no reason what so ever that anyone has the right to carry a concealed semi automatic hand gun, an automatic rifle that fires 100 rounds of ammunition a minute. It isn't necessary! Not only do most of the people who own one of these killing machines, but they own multiple types of these killing machines, and lets be honest, that is exactly what they are. And before you say anything, they are not designed to kill animals, they are designed to kill people, and they do not belong in the hands of everyday citizens who want to hide their craziness behind the second amendment!<br />
<br />
I am further angered by the fact that the Republican party and the NRA fail to see they have blood on their hands for what transpired yesterday. This has nothing to do with the lack of God in anyone's life. This has to do with the fact that we allow mass killing machines to be manufactured and sold to anyone who has the money to buy them and they are protected by the powerful NRA and it's lobbyist who want people to think that our founding fathers wanted everyone in this country to own a fucking Uzi. Enough of the nonsense!<br />
<br />
Today we still mourn the loss of innocence, but soon, very soon the conversation needs to begin on how we insure that this senseless violence does not happen again.
Bless the souls of the innocence lost yesterday and finally, just finally, someone stands up and says that this can not happen again.

It would thrill me nothing more to have December 1st as nothing more than just another day. But until a cure is found for HIV/AIDS we mark this day with hope for those who are living with HIV and remember those we have lost to AIDS.

Each year it takes on a different meaning. As hard as it is to believe in 2012, HIV/AIDS gets more personal and closer to home. I hope and pray that in my lifetime we know a world without this disease. In advance of Saturday, here is a video from One.org.

If you don't have your bunker built and your weapons stock piled, you only have three weeks to get it done according to the Mayans!
I do and I don't mean to make fun of this shit, because heaven forbid there is type of earthquake, volcanic eruption, or any other natural disaster, you know that some crack pot with a AK-47 is going to freak out and take out a bunch of innocent lives with their stupid ass.
That being said, you know in the back of your mind that you are thinking, what if?
Have you got a plan just in case?
For me it depends on just what the hell may go down. If its a tsunami, I think I should be pretty safe here in Chicago, but stranger things have happened. If it's an earthquake, I have lived through one of those now, so I kind of have an idea on what to do. A volcano, I'm fucked!
What about you, anything planned just in case?

<br />
After watching this video I had one quick question, did every man come out of the closet last year when Don't Ask Don't Tell was overturned? I am particularly fond of the hot pierced nippled, tattooed boy at the 1:56 mark and 2:18 is pretty smoking hot as well. Oh hell, who am I kidding, I think that most of them are hot! Good for them for finding a way to blow off each other, I mean steam! ;)<br />

Enjoy!<br />

I officially signed up for the 2013 Ride for AIDS Chicago!<br />
<br />
This isn't my first time at the rodeo as far as AIDS rides go, but this is the first time I have participated in this particular ride and TPAN, Test Positive Aware Network, is near and dear to both Luis and I. Luis has always been a rider and I have always been a supporter, but those days are gone as I pull my biking helmet out of the closet and dust it off and put those horrible biker shorts on!<br />
<br />
Now more than ever it is about doing rather than just talking about it! No longer are we a society dieing of AIDS, but a society living with HIV and with more government cuts coming each year, I feel I have a responsibility to put my words into action.<br />
<br />
So here you go, my first of what will be many requests to raise funds! FYI, if you donate before the end of the year, you can write it off on your taxes! Thanks in advance!<br />

Let's start with those idiots in Texas that want to secede from the US. First thoughts are, ok, and take all of the fucking Bush family with you, since they are the ones responsible for this mess to begin with! That will also insure that none of the rest of them will ever be able to run for public office in the country again!
Then I was thinking, where the hell are you going to go, Mexico? If I remember correctly, they hate the little brown people that are stealing all of us hard working Americans jobs, or is it they are coming over here and going on welfare? I forget since they seem to be speaking out of both sides of their mouths.
Then I was thinking, you bunch of cry babies! So what, you tried to steal the election and it didn't work. That is part of living in a democratic society. On the other hand I think that anyone who signed the petition should be tried for treason and executed. Yes, I believe in capitol punishment, and being that Texas leads the country in killing prisoners, they probably know how to kill each other best!
Then there are my client's! I had one tell me she was ashamed to be an American? I asked her why and she said that we have gotten lazy and expect the government to give us everything. That was when I informed her that more people on welfare and unemployment voted for Romney.
Oh and then there was the other client that said she was tired of people expecting hand outs! FYI, would someone please tell me where the fuck I can get my hand out, but I digress. This is the same client who has a daughter that hasn't worked in two years. Not because she isn't capable, it is because she refuses to take a job "beneath" her!
All said, I am tired of listening to the bullshit! the only way we are going to survive as a nation is if we come together, meet in the middle and work this shit out. I think the most un-American thing anyone can do is disown their loyalty to a nation that gives them the freedom to disown their country! Enough a;ready!

Did you cry last night? I did! I couldn't be prouder at this moment to think I might have had a small hand in the re-election of President Obama. We have a long way to go as a nation and the only way we will continue to move forward is if both party's set their differences aside and start thinking about us, the American people, instead of their political careers!
Exhausted, you fucking bet! But I would do it all over again for the right person! Hillary in 2016? <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So it's official! On Saturday, in front of some of our family and friend, in a container filled with love and support Luis and I became husbands. I have said it before, and I will say it again, I am one of the luckiest men alive and am completely blessed to have such an amazing man in my life.<br />
<br />
Here are just a couple of the thousands of pictures that were taken that night. Dreams do come true and I hope our story reminds everyone that our love is real and all you have to do is open your heart to the possibility that it does exist for us all.<br />

Let me put it to you this way, planning a wedding is fucking stressful and hard! Not to mention trying to run a household, maintain my work life and try and continue working out with the trainer to give me some sense of sanity.<br />
<br />
Here we go!<br />
<br />
Two weeks - September 29th, that's the big day! Contact me and I will let you know where to send the gifts! If someone else tells me to relax and enjoy myself I will most likely haul off and slap the shit out of them. Just saying. Like every groom, I want the day to go off without a hitch, unfirtunately the hitches we have run into are making me pull out my hair!<br />
<br />
*Vows written, ceremony set.<br />
*The menu has finally been resolved- pork, pork and more pork!<br />
*The photographer was signed a long time ago so no problem there.<br />
*Meeting with the florist for the first time today. Because of the drought, no idea what flowers were going to be available.<br />
*The band for the reception was just signed, 3 hours of 80's music to dance the night away to!<br />
*Still do not have the guitarist for the cocktail party before!<br />
*Marriage license on Wednesday<br />
* The cake is set<br />
*Giveaways are set<br />
*Rehearsal dinner and walk through is next week. <br />
* Stress and trainer has taken me down a complete size in my suite, but we were able to get the taken care of.<br />
<br />
Seriously gays, why do we want to do this? Kidding! I love Luis and I am honored to spend the rest of my life loving him!<br />
<br />
Next!<br />
Is anyone else uncomfortable watching Britney Spears judge on the X Factor? I mean, the girl really knows how to dance and be a slut, but judge a singing competition? It just makes me feel weird.<br />
<br />
Next!<br />
Two Words - Mitt Romney! That man is such an asshole. I can't even fathom him being president of this country and I am working tirelessly to make sure that doesn't fucking happen, and you should TOO! I would be here for a full day ranting if I set my mind to it, but for that, just follow me on Facebook. He takes a daily beating from me on there!<br />
<br />
Next!<br />
Down to 12.5% body fat. John the trainer wants to make sure I look my best for the big day. Little does he know, the stress has just as much to do with my transformation as he does. SHHHH, our secret!<br />
<br />
Next!<br />
Yes the world keeps rumbling, volcanoes erupting, the big one is coming folks! MARK MY WORD!<br />
<br />
I love and miss you all and I promise to get back to this on a more consistent basis when , you know, the world stops!<br />
<br />
<br />Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-54463590519229828572012-08-24T11:51:00.000-05:002012-08-24T11:51:05.810-05:00And The Nonsense Rolls On!Maybe roll isn't a strong enough term, but holy Mother Of Jesus what a week the republicans have delivered. You cant get pregnant during rape, making all abortions illegal, saying women are pregnant two weeks before conception, voter suppression laws, refusal to release tax returns, all around flip flopping on women's rights to fit their needs, Obama/Romney Care, to documents being released today the Romney actually brokered a deal to dispose of aborted fetuses! It's too much for this political junkie to handle!<br />
<br />
What is worse, you would think with all of this nonsense going on, Obama would be further ahead in the polls! People, you need to get motivated and excited about this election, there are two possible supreme court justices that will be up for replacement! Think! get Involved! Get Motivated! VOTE!<br />
<br />
On another note, I am not a fan of Lance Armstrong, but I actually understand what he did today by abandoning his fight against doping charges. All though he has passed every drug test they have ever given him, these people are convinced that he cheated! Again, no evidence, just a lot of hear say and jealous competitors saying they saw things, but no proof! <br />
<br />
There was no chance in hell they were going to let it go and the Us Anti-doping Agency should be embarrassed and ashamed for the way they have handled this. I would throw in the towel at this point as well and say Fuck you! He won, he has pissed on some queens Wheaties and they have been out to get him ever since. Sad ending to this story because his 7 Tour wins and bronze medal are going to be stripped from him.<br />
<br />
Five weeks until Luis and I get married! OMG! That's all I am going to say, but holy fuck the stress is building! <br />
<br />
So, what are you all doing to get people motivated to vote?<br />
<br />
<br />Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-57099382915532379252012-08-16T08:25:00.000-05:002012-08-16T08:25:19.895-05:00Game Changer?The Mitt Whit team is in place now. I have to say, I am a bit concerned. Not because he chose Ryan, but because The Democrats have gotten off message. STICK TO THE FACTS! Nail those dumb asses to the wall on their records and keep the mudslinging to the Super Pacs!<br />
<br />
Personally I think Ann Romney did the Obama Campaign a huge service by her interview yesterday saying they would not be releasing any more of there tax returns until after the election! They don't like the scrutiny it will bring! If they have nothing to hide, then what are they afraid of?<br />
<br />
I will go on the record and say I do not like how ugly this race is getting, but yet again you can thank Karl Rove and his voter ID laws, the Coke brothers and their billions oh, and every other corporation that has given millions of dollors to buy Romney the Presidency. Don't think it wont have its price people!<br />
<br />
But back the the start of this, do you think Ryan was a game changer?Danhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03033788630762248583noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3007037129363039591.post-48784899210314400512012-07-25T12:47:00.001-05:002012-07-25T12:47:21.337-05:00So There You Have It, But Will It Matter?Finally, the proud straight Christian owner of Chick-Fil-A has spoken his mind.<i><span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"> "I think we are
inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and
say 'we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage' and I
pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant
attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is
about" </span></i><br />
<br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"></span><span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">First and foremost I am a believer in freedom of speech and if Dan Cathy feels this way, he should have the right to. However warped and misguided it may be, this man truly believes that God is about fear and hate<i>, </i>that is is his right and I applaud him for finally</span><span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"> having the balls to stand up and say he is a bigot. </span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">I also applaud Boston, Chicago, and the Jim Henson Company for practicing their freedom of speech and saying to Mr Cathy that because of his discriminatory and bigoted views, they will not be doing business with him. It appears that a lot of other people are lining up and doing the same and I applaud them as well. </span><br />
<br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">I for one have been in one of his restaurants and have enjoyed his product. But those days are done for me as I hope they are for anyone in the LGBT community and our allies. We have got to stop funneling money to a company, or any other company for that matter, that in return is funneling money to groups that only wish to oppress our community and do us harm.</span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">Maybe, just maybe, because this man has finally verbalized his ridiculous views on love, that people will stand up and take a stand, and by stand, I mean stop doing business with him. </span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">There isnt any need to picket his place of business, do sit ins, kiss ins, or whatever you have in mind, just dont give him your money and encourage anyone that believes in love not to either. It is that simple. And guess what, this man will NEVER receive another dime from me or my loved ones. The damage is done. There is no back tracking, and there sure the hell is no reversal in policy that is going to make me line up and walk into his restaurant, period, end of story.</span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">Do I wish for him to go out of business and see people lose their jobs? No, but I also don't want to see his money used to harm people I love, so the choice is an easy one for me. What about you? Will you or would you continue to do business with a company that blatantly chooses to discriminate?</span><br />
<br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody">And as for Gods judgement, I have said this before and I will say it again, these so called Christians are really going to be twisted up when they realize they got it all wrong and the book they all profess to know and love was meant as a guide to love and acceptance and not hate and bigotry. </span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
<span class="articlespan" itemprop="articlebody"><br /></span><br />
